Week 7

Week Seven:

The Fourth Model:
For this project I want to understand how my family interacts with the main living space. My fourth model I created Is made from wire and black string, I mapped out where my mom dad and sister walked the most and then wrapped it onto a wire frame.

The wire is hard to bend into the correct shape as it warps and takes on kinks.
I used a black string to convey movement through the space, the string helps convey where my family and I walk the most.

Findings
The Frame made is clear to me that  we moved centrally through the space, finding the shortest path highlighting our motion through this dynamic area.

The Fifth Model
The task for this week is to see how light interacts with our chosen space, I modelled up the dining room using some cardboard I'd found. Cardboard is lot more rigid than card and paper, meaning you can glue it onto itself because of the thickness, I enjoyed working with this material as its very forgiving.

This is a cardboard model of my living space, I have only included the walls and Windows.

The Cardboard was a lot easier to cut, and craft. The rigidness compared to paper means that it holds its structure and is far less intricate to use as a material.
The Human Figure indicates scale, I have cut out the outline to produce a silhouette when light interacts with the model.

Light Interaction:
To see the way light interacted with my model I moved a desk lamp to the East (sunrise) and West (Sunset). I found that I could enhance my living space by adding a full size window to the left hand side, this allows the morning sunshine into the living space and gives the whole room a new breathe of life.
